Quick Start

Interactive TUI Mode

Launch the interactive terminal:

flouri
# or
flouri tui

In the TUI:

  • Type commands normally (e.g., ls, cd, git status)
  • Prefix with ? to ask the AI: ? How do I check disk usage?
  • Use Ctrl+A as an alternative to ?
  • Use Tab for command completion
  • Use ↑/↓ for command history
  • Use Ctrl+R to search history
  • Use Ctrl+D to exit

CLI Mode

Run one-off commands:

# Basic usage
flouri agent "List files and show git status"

# With streaming output
flouri agent --stream "Explain how Docker networking works"

# With custom allowlist
flouri agent --allowlist "ls,cd,git" "Check git status"

# With blacklist
flouri agent --blacklist "rm,dd" "Help me organize files"

First Steps

  1. Set up your API key:
    export API_KEY=your-key
    export MODEL=gpt-4o-mini

  2. Launch Flouri:
    flouri

  3. Try a command:
    $ ls -la

  4. Ask for help:
$ ? What files are taking up the most space?

  5. Explore features:
    • Try tab completion: cd ~/pro<Tab>
    • Use history: to see previous commands
    • Ask complex questions: ? How do I set up a Python virtual environment?

Next Steps

Troubleshooting

API Key Issues

If you see authentication errors:

  • Verify your API key is set: echo $API_KEY
  • Check that the key is valid for your chosen provider
  • Ensure the model name matches your provider (e.g., anthropic/claude-3-sonnet for Anthropic)

Command Execution Issues

If commands aren’t executing:

  • Check your allowlist/blacklist configuration
  • Review the Security documentation
  • Check logs in ~/.config/flouri/logs/

Installation Issues

If installation fails:

  • Ensure Python 3.10+ is installed: python3 --version
  • Try upgrading pip: pip install --upgrade pip
  • Use a virtual environment: python3 -m venv venv && source venv/bin/activate
